Group Facilitator - SUD Residential Program

Grandview Foundation is looking for a dynamic Group Facilitator who has experience working with START-ODS (county) patients.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to successfully create a positive atmosphere and a safe place for open discussion for clients recovering from substance use disorders
  • Be able to compose meaningful individual group notes for each client, ensuring the utilization of evidence based practices
  • Have extensive knowledge of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques
  • Be able to communicate efficiently and effectively with clients and staff
  • Counsel clients or patients, individually or in-group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
  • Work with Clinical Director to coordinate counseling efforts with mental health professionals.
  • Attend weekly Case Conferences to discuss clients’ progress. Identify problems or achievements through staff discussion and adjust treatment plan as needed.
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Facilitate approximately 8-10 weekly groups
  • Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Interface with all staff regarding client treatment issues.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Experience with SAGE a plus.
  • Experience with Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) a plus.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Certified Addictions Counselor, in good standing with a certifying organization Required (CCAPP, CAADE or CADTP)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in field of drug and alcohol treatment.
  • Computer experience and good verbal and writing skills.
  • Reliable transportation arrangements.
  • Detail oriented, organized, with social skills.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Must be able to pass a live-scan background check.
  • Must be eligible to work legally in the U.S.

Associate Therapist

Grandview Foundation is expanding our Outpatient program and has a need for a part-time Therapist. Experience working with START-ODS (county) patients a plus.

Responsibilities:

The primary role of this employee is to provide both group and individual psychotherapy to clients of the outpatient program. The associate is to conduct individual psychotherapy with referred clients and group therapy when a need arises. The Associate will be supervised by the Clinical Director, or an appropriate designate.

The following are examples of the general responsibilities of the job and are not to be understood as a definitive, absolute list of responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly psychotherapy sessions with referred clients
  • Make suggestions for needed therapy groups
  • Conduct weekly therapeutic groups
  • Maintain confidential records of therapy sessions
  • Attend weekly group or individual supervision with Licensed Therapist
  • May need to attend outside trainings

Qualifications:

  • Able to effectively communicate with others and a sensibility to the needs of recovering persons
  • Recovering persons must have a sobriety date in compliance with Grandview Foundation’s personnel policies
  • Must not be on probation or parole
  • Must be a registered Associate of Marriage & Family Therapy, or Associate of Social Work, or Professional Clinical Counselor with current registration with the BBS
  • Must have negative TB screen
  • Must be CPR/First Aid Certified

SUD Residential Counselor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete bio-psycho-social assessments for each client. From the assessment, develop a treatment plan including goals and objectives. Through progress notes and other documentation, show progress or lack of progress the client is making toward achievement of his or her goals.
  • Counsel clients or patients, individually or in-group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
  • Work with Clinical Director to coordinate counseling efforts with mental health professionals.
  • Attend weekly Case Conferences to discuss clients’ progress in relation to their treatment plans. Identify problems or achievements through staff discussion and adjust treatment plan as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and other service agencies involved in clients’ treatment, such as Probation, Parole, DCFS, etc.
  • Facilitate weekly groups.
  • Provide each client with an individualized Continuing Care Plan.
  • Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Interface with all staff regarding client treatment issues.

Full-Time Substance Abuse Technician

Substance Abuse Technician is responsible for helping to facilitate clients through their daily programing schedules in a residential substance abuse setting. Day-to-day responsibilities may vary.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Monitor client’s behaviors and assist client’s needs during shift.
  • Complete environmental rounds as needed.
  • Inspect medication area as needed.
  • Document observations/milieu interventions in client’s electronic/paper records.
  • Complete daily shift log.
  • Conduct AMA prevention and crisis intervention with immediate notification to Program Manager.
  • Ensure safety of all clients through regular house checks and client rounds.
  • Conduct UA drug screen as directed.
  • Facilitate accountability for clients in maintaining room and facility cleanliness.
  • Participate in staff meetings, team meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Checking and responding to company email every shift to ensure company wide communication.
  • Maintain ethical boundaries with clients.
  • Process newly admitted clients in accordance with company procedures including processing client property search and ensure that consent for treatment has been completed.
  • Process a discharging client in accordance with company procedures and documenting in client chart as needed.
  • Supervising the self-administration of medication as needed.
  • Comply with HIPAA and other mandates regarding client care and confidentiality.
  • Special Projects as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

  • One or more years of verifiable experience in residential substance abuse treatment required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of substance abuse related issues and the recovery process.
  • Knowledge of the recovery field including the recovery practices and the 12-step process.
  • Ability to maintain ethical and professional boundaries with clients and staff members.
  • Knowledge of the process and signs of acute withdrawal from substances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, and have the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in the field of recovery.

Computer Skills:

  • Computer Literacy in doc, spreadsheet, and email.
  • Proficiency with SAPC documentation.

Certificates & Licenses:

  • CPR/First AID
  • Drug and Alcohol Counseling Credential

Other Requirements:

  • Negative TB test results within past year
  • Medical Clearance to work within past year
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
