Shortly after I entered treatment at Grandview things began to change. We were no longer allowed to attend groups and treatment was being provided on an individual basis. Building model cars gave us the chance to reflect and relax. As a kid, I enjoyed building model cars, so having this opportunity to be involved with this project helped to make the time pass.
The blue challenger was my first project when our quarantine began. It’s not perfect but I believe it’s awesome.
The cherry red truck is another one of my favorites. It’s a Ford Hot Rod. Very clean.
The Orange Boss 429 is one of my favorite cars. I hope to own one in my new life of being sober.
When I completed residential treatment and returned home, I took this unmade model with me and built it with my daughter. Becoming clean and sober and being able to be an involved dad to my girls is something I treasure. I’m grateful to all I’ve learned and gained from being at Grandview.
